The Sustainable Development Area (SDA) has added approximately 5,224 more developable acres for high-density policies than the current “as the crow flies” Transit Priority Area (TPA) — including in high-risk fire and environmentally sensitive areas.

For residential neighborhoods, this means that 4,612 more developable acres are now eligible for the Bonus ADU program and other high-density policies than what the current Transit Priority Area allowed.

The lawsuit is challenging the City's failure to provide the proper environmental analysis of its Sustainable Development Area that allows dense development up to a mile or more away from existing or planned transit that may never be built.
